Early Life and Family

Cavan Biggio was born on April 11, 1995, in Houston, Texas, to parents Craig and Cindy Biggio. His father, Craig, is a retired seven-time All-Star, five-time Silver Slugger, and four-time Gold Glove Award winner. Craig played for the Houston Astros for 20 seasons, making him a legend in the city.

Baseball Journey

Growing up in a baseball family, Cavan was exposed to the game from an early age. He began playing at a young age and quickly showed signs of his exceptional talent. He attended St. John's School in Houston, where he played baseball and football.

In 2013, Biggio committed to play baseball at the University of Notre Dame. He played for the Fighting Irish for three seasons, starting at shortstop and second base. During his time at Notre Dame, he won the prestigious Golden Spikes Award as the nation's top amateur baseball player in 2016.

In the 2016 MLB Draft, Biggio was selected eighth overall by the Toronto Blue Jays. He made his MLB debut in 2019 and quickly established himself as a valuable player. He primarily plays second base but has also shown versatility by playing third base, left field, and center field.

Current Status

Biggio is currently in his fourth season with the Blue Jays. He has become a consistent performer, posting solid numbers at the plate and in the field. In 2020, he finished with a .294 batting average, .406 on-base percentage, and .453 slugging percentage. He also has shown improvement defensively, making standout plays at second base.

Biggio is expected to play a significant role for the Blue Jays in the future. With his talent, work ethic, and impressive family lineage, he has the potential to become one of the best players in the MLB.
